Stella Pinot Grigio 2013
Description: Made from 100% Pinot Grigio. In order to preserve the zesty, citrusy character of this quintessentially Italian varietal, Stella Pinot Grigio is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and refined for only three months before being bottled and released.
Taste Notes: Pale yellow in color with greenish reflections, Stella Pinot Grigio is vibrant on the palate with fresh fruit aromas of pears and citrus, and balanced, yet zesty acidity. Light, refreshing, and easy-going, Stella Pinot Grigio is the ideal summer wine, offering versatility and excellent value. Enjoy as an aperitif, with light hors d’oeuvres, mild cheeses, light pasta dishes & salads.
Ruta 22 Malbec
Description: The name Ruta 22 refers to a national highway that runs from the east coast port of Bahia Blanca and ends in the western vineyards of Neuquén. The brand is in the portfolio of the Chilean-Argentine partnership Dos Andes.
Taste Notes: Intense red violet color in the glass. On the nose, aromas of bright red fruit, plums and raspberries followed with fruit with rounded and firm tannins. Enjoy now. Pairs perfectly with red meats, cheeses made from cow milk and pastas with light sauces.
Gosset Brut Excellence
Description: Gosset is small for a grand marque. At 50,000 cases a year total production they make about as much Champagne as Krug. They are located in Ay, the heart of Champagne, along with Bollinger, Deutz and De Meric, and they have been making wine there since 1584, the oldest currently operating wine producer in Champagne. None of their Champagnes ever go through malolactic. On their website, they list the Brut Excellence as being composed of 36% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir (all from Grand and Premier Cru vineyards) and 19% Pinot Meunier, including 24% reserve wines from two vintages. A 92 pt. rating from Wine Spectator.
Taste Notes: The NV Brut Excellence is a pretty, expressive wine that makes a good introduction to the house style. Clean veins of minerality support the fruit in this mid-weight, attractive wine. Pears, flowers and sweet spices are nicely layered into the finish.
Basca Cava NV
Description: This is a blend of the traditional varietals used to make Cava; Macabeo (40%), Xarel·lo (30%) and Parellada (30%). The still wine is fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle, following the traditional method. The wine is kept in the cellar for about fifteen months before disgorging. The dosage is 8g/l.
Taste Notes: A mellow nose with hints of fruit. Its has a well-balanced structure with elegance and richness with an unmistakable personality. Delivers lots of lively, lemony, floral fruit with a clean, zesty finish. Perfect opposite a spicy lobster dish.
Francois Montand Brut Blanc des Blancs NV
Description: François Montand, descendant of a long line of winemakers, grew up on his family's vineyard in Champagne. Fascinated from an early age by wine, he became one of the most influential wine merchants in the region. During the German Occupation during WWII he moved his family to Jura Thanks to his expertise from Champagne, he produced sparkling wines rich in flavor made according to the traditional bottle double fermentation method.
Taste Notes: A bouquet of intense aroma of white flowers and citrus fruit. Creamy and smooth on the palate with lingering aromas of freshly baked bread, golden delicious apples and Meyer lemons – harmonious balance. A great way to start any meal, and it's a fine accompaniment for ceviche, salads, and white fish in white sauce or simply for dessert.
La Crema Chardonnay 2013
Description: No stranger on the New Orleans wine scene, La Crema has been a standby in the region for years. Fruit for this wine was hand-selected from cool estate and grower vineyard sites within the Sonoma Coast boundaries – all within 30 miles of the Pacific Ocean. The resulting blend is a complex, layered wine, representing the spectrum of growing conditions found within the Sonoma Coast.
Taste Notes: It embodies incredibly concentrated wines on the extreme coast, with ripened pear and melon notes reflective of the Russian River Valley, stone fruit and minerality of the Los Carneros region, and broader texture of the Chalk Hill. La Crema is a great Chardonnay for all of your summer seafood dishes.
Loca Linda Torrontes 2014
Description: Loosely translated, Loca Linda means “crazy in a good way.” The same could be said for the winemaking philosophy of Brooklyn born owner Brian Smith and his wife Gina – despite the naysayers, they’ve found a way to produce a high-quality, expressive, handcrafted wine at an approachable price point.
Taste Notes: This wine has an unmistakable spring-like nose resembling roses, star fruit, and honeysuckle. Primal on the palate it is crisp, bright and clean. Perfect with light fish or as an aperitif.
Jamieson Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon 2014
Description: Jamieson Ranch Vineyards is the southernmost winery in the Napa Valley, one of the world’s foremost winemaking regions. The estate’s more than 300 acres of gently rolling hills and terraced vineyards benefit from the cooling fog and breezes from the nearby San Pablo Bay. In June of 2014, Bill Leigon, who had joined Jamieson Ranch as President in 2013, named Juan Jose Winemaker at Jamieson Ranch Vineyards.
Taste Notes: Classic Napa Valley aromas jump out of the glass with this expressive cabernet. Notes of anise, currant, and toasted walnuts on the nose complement the lusciously fruit forward palate and voluminous mouthfeel. Rich black cherry and leather reflect the terroir, with integrated and deep oak tannins reflecting the influence of exceptional French Oak barrels. A lengthy finish completes this wine. Perfect for the biggest flavors on your plate.
Janasse Rose 2014
Description: A 90 Hectare vineyard separated over 60 different plots leads to a heavily variegated group of terroirs. The vines are grown without pesticides or insecticides and manure is natural. The land is worked without herbicide to maintain ventilation and flexibility to the soil. Father and son, Aime and Christophe, create this blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah with the same attention and care as their stunning Chateauneuf Du Papes.
Taste Notes: The latest creation in the estate is a fruity, fresh and light wine, ideal as an aperitif.
Orin Swift Machete
Description: David Swift Phinney established Orin Swift after a grueling season as a temporary harvest worker at Robert Mondavi Vineyards. Deciding that if he was going to work that hard he would be his own boss he set out to establish a winery with a little over two tons of zinfandel and now has over 300 acres in Southwest France and projects in several other countries.
Taste Notes: An opaque, purple chroma is brilliantly on display in the glass. An alluring fragrance of bright floral notes, violet juxtaposed with intriguing mountain characteristics. The entry is big, dark, and brooding with concentrated berry flavors, black cherry, mocha, and delightful earthy, brambly notes. Soft and lush, the tannins are sublime which offsets a pleasing mineral finish. Try with a ribeye and garlic sautéed mushrooms.
